Digby RCMP investigate suspicious fire in Freeport, Freeport, N.S.

Digby RCMP Detachment are investigating a suspicious fire overnight in Freeport, Digby County. At approximately 1:34 a.m., Digby RCMP Detachment and volunteer Fire Departments from Freeport, Digby, Digby Neck, Westport and Tiverton responded to a report of a fire at an abandoned fish plant.

At approximately 1:34 a.m., Digby RCMP Detachment and volunteer Fire Departments from Freeport, Digby, Digby Neck, Westport and Tiverton responded to a report of a fire at an abandoned fish plant.

The structure was completely engulfed in flames and has burned to the ground. Due to the lack of power to the building and no threatening weather conditions, the fire has been deemed suspicious. The RCMP continue to investigate this matter.
