Diy Golden Globes Nails

During the countdown to the red carpet for the Golden Globes on the E! Network you probably caught this nail tutorial with Christina Milian and her sisters. Inspired by the Golden Globes I decided to give it a go myself, and I was actually very surprised with how easy it was.
Here’s how you get the look.

So all you need to do it first apply a generous coat of gold nail polish (I also applied OPI’s Nail Envy prior to this to strengthen my nails), and then wait about two minutes for the gold to dry. I used OPI’s 50 Years of Style for the base.
Then you’re going to apply a red in the centre of your nail. Make sure to leave the same amount at the bottom of your nail as you do along the sides. I used OPI’s new “Romantically Involved” from their 50 Shades of Gray collection.
I couldn’t really remember what they said in the tutorial (I probably should have looked it up) You can watch the clip here. At first I kind of painted them so the bottom was straight, but I kind of liked the look of them being a little rounded so I went back over them again.
In retrospect I could have brought the red a little closer to the sides. I was in a hurry to get them to dry before I had to make dinner, so by the time I realized it was too late! Not bad for my first attempt 🙂
Anyways I thought you might enjoy this twist on nail polish application 🙂 It’s super easy! So I know if I can do it you can do it at home too!
Happy Thursday!
