Dogs attack woman, police discharge service weapon

Halifax Regional Police is currently on scene for an animal attack that occurred in the 0 to 100 block of Fredrick Street in Halifax.

Today, at approximately 8:40 a.m. police responded to a call that three large dogs were attacking a woman. Police entered the residence, and while attempting to save the woman, the dogs began to attack the officer. The officer discharged their service weapon striking the animals. The dogs died on scene.

The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries due to the animal attack.
