Donors Of The Canine Kind

We’re all well aware of the importance of blood donation, but we often forget that dogs need blood too.  Jennifer Stewart over at the Chronicle Herald reports on the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic, and and the important work that they do every day.  Yes, the donors are dogs too.  From the article:

“Right now, the Dartmouth clinic has about 10 regular canine donors, plus a few cat owners they can go to in a pinch for feline blood. Gigi, a calico with a bum leg who lives at the clinic, has also been known to reluctantly give up a pint.”
