The ground may be snow covered, but on Sunday, March 8, Nova Scotians will be able to enjoy more sunlight when daylight savings time begins.
People are reminded to set their clocks and watches ahead one hour at 2 a.m., or Saturday evening before they go to bed.
Watches and clocks are not the only items that need adjustment — oven, microwave and car clocks, as well as electronic devices and automatic timer lights also need to be turned ahead.
The annual event is also a good reminder to clean dryer vents to prevent fires, and change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years.
