Don’t make it easy – lock your vehicle

Several vehicle owners in the Porter’s Lake area woke up Monday morning to find that someone had helped themselves to valuables from unlocked vehicles.

Members of Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP responded to a total of five such calls from O’Connell Dr., Sandur Lane, and Sandy Lane.

The matter is under investigation, however, police are asking vehicle owners to take a few steps to ensure they don’t become victims of this easily preventable crime:

  • lock your vehicle when it is left unattended
  • keep valuables out of sight, or simply remove them from your vehicle
  • park your vehicle in a well-lit area
  • report suspicious activity to police

Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP is asking anyone who has information about these incidents to call them at902-889-3300.
