So, do you guys remember that time I said I thought Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23 would make a good pairing with Happy Endings but not Modern Family. Sure you do! Well, it looks like ABC reads my blog. Or they read other, more famous TV columns because everyone had that opinion. Or, you know, they’re a successful network who understand the tones of their various comedies.
Whatever. The point is, Apartment 23 and Happy Endings will be paired up on Tuesday nights this fall, and I’m so into it. (Yes, Cougar Town would go nicely there too, but I’m totally OK with it being on TBS because it’s a better alternative to cancelled.)
This will mean an overload of amazing comedies on Tuesday nights from FOX and ABC, plus my favorite show Parenthood on NBC, but whatever. Tuesday night social plans are for suckers, my DVR is where it’s at. So a word of advice to the four of you who watch Happy Endings but haven’t checked out 23? Get yo selves on board!
Last night’s episode, “It’s Just Sex”, was hilarious. June got her first taste of casual sex, and a sex tape of Chloe and JVDB accidentally went public. There was a lot to love, and the supporting characters that were problems are continuing to grow on me. I have faith that they’ll get fully figured out in the second season.
I know that JVDB on Dancing With The Stars is the same kind of ABC/Disney synergy that Modern Family‘s trip to Disneyland was, but I’m allowing it because it’s hilarious. His dance partner? Awesome.
