Downtown Halifax Plan five-year review public consultation

Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to participate in public consultation being undertaken as part of the first five-year review of the Downtown Halifax Plan.

The Downtown Halifax Secondary Municipal Planning Strategy and By-law were adopted in 2009 following an extensive public consultation process, known as HRMbyDesign. The plan establishes a vision for downtown Halifax’s distinct character and growth aspirations, and over the past five years it has successfully brought change, growth, improved building design and heritage protection to the area.

The current five-year review is an opportunity to further improve the plan by responding to changing trends and conditions, address any gaps in the policies and regulations, and ensure that the plan continues to reflect the goals and objectives of the community.

Public input is and we want to hear from everyone who lives, works and plays in our downtown core. A presentation and discussion focused on the plan will be held as follows:
