Driver arrested after striking pedestrian, fleeing scene

At 7:30 p.m. Central Division Patrol members responded to a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle on the Halifax waterfront boardwalk in the 1400 block of Lower Water Street. Responding members found a 19-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle involved had fled the scene. Later in the evening, a 22-year-old man was arrested at a residence in Hammonds Plains in relation to the incident. The man remains in custody and the matter remains under investigation by the Integrated General Investigative Section.
