Driver charged for drug trafficking after collision, Coldbrook, N.S.

Kings District RCMP arrested a 27-year-old Dartmouth man after a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday morning. On July 4, 2015, at approximately 5:10 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a collision on Highway 101 near Coldbrook.

On July 4, 2015, at approximately 5:10 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a collision on Highway 101 near Coldbrook.

Preliminary investigation determined that a collision had occurred just west of Exit 14 between a Jeep Wrangler and a Chevrolet Cobalt. The woman operating the Jeep was treated at the scene, while the driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the Valley Regional Hospital.

After he was released from hospital, the 27-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested by the RCMP for impaired driving. He was taken to New Minas Detachment where he provided breath samples. Upon searching the accused and his vehicle, RCMP located and seized a quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine.

Darcy Joel Miller, who was remanded into custody, is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. He appeared in court yesterday, was released and will be back before the courts on Aug 4, 2015. The investigation is continuing.
