Driver ejected in crash between tractor and tractor-trailer

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a tractor trailer collision with a utility tractor that occurred in Fall River. 

On September 16, at approximately 7:49 p.m., RCMP officers, EHS and fire services, responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a utility tractor on Hwy. 118 in Fall River. 

Responding officers learned a northbound tractor trailer had rear-ended a John Deer tractor, travelling in the same direction at a lower speed, near Exit 14. 

The driver of the tractor, a 43-year-old Dartmouth man, was ejected upon impact and sustained serious injuries.  The driver of the tractor trailer, a 25-year-old Stillwater Lake man, was not injured. 

EHS and EHS LifeFlight attended the scene to provide aid to the injured utility tractor driver before he was transported to hospital by ambulance.

The investigation is ongoing.
