Driver ticketed after pedestrian hit in Dartmouth

At  approximately 1220 pm, East Division officers were dispatched to the intersection of Pleasant St./Atlantic St, Dartmouth for a report of a pedestrian/vehicle collision.

Upon arriving on scene officers observed fire and paramedics were attending to 44 year old man who had been struck by a vehicle.  During the investigation the officers located a 76 year old woman who was driving a smaller black SUV.

At the completion of the investigation officers issued a ticket for section 125 of the Motor Vehicle Act (failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk) to the woman.  The pedestrian was transported to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
