Drug bust in Bedford; man and woman face charges

Halifax Regional PoliceA man and a woman face drug trafficking charges after a quantity of marijuana was discovered during police drug search at a residence in Bedford on Thursday.

At about 3:25 p.m., police officers from the Integrated Drug Unit conducted a search of a residence in the 1100 block of the Bedford Highway and seized a quantity of marijuana, cash and other drug paraphernalia.

Five people were arrested at the scene without incident; three of those arrested were released without charges.

A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both of Bedford, are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face trafficking charges.
