Drug search leads to charges
A man and woman face charges as a result of a drug search in Halifax last night.
At 11 pm on July 12, investigators in the Integrated Drug Unit with the assistance of members of the West Quick Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 0-100 block of Val Street. As a result of the search, a quantity of cocaine was seized along with drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested a man and woman during the search without incident.
Twenty-five-year-old Marshall Burgess and 24-year-old Katelyn Gunn, both of Halifax, were charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. Burgess was also charged with one count of resist arrest and two counts of breach of recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial court today. Gunn is scheduled to appear at a later date.
