Drug search leads to drugs and theft related charges

Halifax man faces multiple charges as a result of a drug search last week in Halifax.

Just before 3p.m. on October 26, members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Divisionexecuted a search warrant at London Pawn Shop, 2859 Isleville Street in Halifax. As a result of the search, a quantity of an unknown powder and marijuana were seized along with drug paraphernalia and several stolen items, including a guitar and construction tools. Officers arrested a man during the search without incident.

Forty-four-year-old Lonnie Marcelle Murphy of Halifax has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on October 27.
