Drug searches results in charges

Two men and three women face charges as a result of two drug searches executed last night in Halifax.

 

At 8:05 p.m. on June 16, members of the Special Enforcement Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the West Quick Response Unit, executed search warrants in two separate units at an apartment building in the 400-block of Herring Cove Road. As a result of the search, a quantity of cocaine, marijhuana, cannabis resin and Clonazepam pills were seized along with drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash. Officers arrested two men and three women without incident during the searches.

 

Forty-one-year-old Anthony Peter LeBlanc and 64-year-old Leo Cecil Newcombe, both of Halifax, each faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis resin. LeBlanc has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in Clonazepam. Both are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial court today. 

 

Forty-eight-year-old Mary Norman from Hammonds Plains, 20-year-old Charley Rose Norman from Halifax as well as a 51-year-old woman from Timberlea, also all face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis resin. They were released on appearance notices and are to appear in Halifax Provincial court on July 26.
