On January 5 at 1:30 p.m., officers in the Special Enforcement Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division arrested a 29-year-old man outside a residence in the 1000 block of Lucknow Street. A search of the man was conducted, and as a result of the search, quantities of hydromorphone and marijuana as well as a cell phone were seized.
Following the arrest, search warrants were executed at three separate residences, one in the 1000 block of Lucknow Street, the second in the 5600 block of Rhuland Street, and the third in the 6000 block of Almon Street. As a result of these searches, quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl pills, marijuana, hash, mushrooms and other unidentified pills and powders as well as drug paraphernalia, a number of firearms, ammunition and a large quantity of stolen electronic and household items were seized.
A 29-year-old Halifax man faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone, possession for the purpose of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl, and possession for the purpose of trafficking in psilocybin mushrooms. He also faces multiple weapons related charges and other charges are pending in relation to the seized stolen goods.
A 26-year-old man from Lower Sackville was arrested at the Rhuland Street residence at 4:17 p.m. without incident. He faces charges of possession of cocaine, two counts of breach of a probation order and one count of breach of a recognizance.
A 34-year-old woman from Halifax was contacted by police and she attended police headquarters yesterday at approximately 3:30 pm to turn herself in to police. She faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl. Other charges are pending in relation to the seized stolen goods.
All parties were held in police custody and are to appear in Halifax Provincial court today. The investigation continues into this matter.
