Drug trafficking charges, Eskasoni, N.S.

Eskasoni RCMP have arrested a man for drug trafficking. At approximately 9 p.m. on May 23rd, RCMP stopped a vehicle on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni. The members determined the driver, a 64-year-old Sydney River man, was in possession of a quantity of hydromorphone pills and was also prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

Eskasoni RCMP have arrested a man for drug trafficking.

At approximately 9 p.m. on May 23rd, RCMP stopped a vehicle on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni. The members determined the driver, a 64-year-old Sydney River man, was in possession of a quantity of hydromorphone pills and was also prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

The man faces numerous charges including Operating a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited under the Criminal Code, Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act and several Motor Vehicle Act offences. He was released from custody and will appear in Sydney court on September 2nd, 2014. He was also placed on conditions not to be in the community of Eskasoni. The investigation is continuing.
