Drugs and weapons seized during searches, Cole Harbour, N.S.

A joint investigation between the Halifax District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and Halifax Regional Police (HRP) East Quick Response Unit leads to the seizure of drugs and a loaded handgun.

On Thursday, April 16th at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers with HRP East Quick Response Unit and RCMP SCEU stopped a vehicle in a shopping mall parking lot on Tacoma Dr in Dartmouth with four occupants ranging in ages from 19 to 23. The vehicle occupants were arrested for weapons possession and a search of the occupants and vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun, a knife, cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills. As a result of the search two of the occupants, an 18-year-old male and a 23-year-old male from Dartmouth are facing multiple Criminal Code and CDSA charges.

Following the traffic stop the investigation led police to a residence on Flying Cloud Dr where a search warrant was executed. As a result of the search, police seized a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. Two men, ages 25 and 23 from Cole Harbour are facing charges under the Criminal Code and CDSA.

All accused were held in police custody and are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
