Drunk Driver Collides With Mobile Home, Flees Scene

At approximately 6:30 AM, East Division patrol officers responded to a driving complaint in the area of Gaston Rd & Lacombe Dr. in Dartmouth.   
At approximately 6:30 AM, East Division patrol officers responded to a driving complaint in the area of Gaston Rd & Lacombe Dr. in Dartmouth. 
 
The information received was that a vehicle was driving erratically and dangerously on the street in that area. Upon arrival, the officers located an abandoned vehicle (Dodge Truck) that had front end damage and had been run into a mobile home causing some damage to the home, yard and driveway. An interior check of the vehicle revealed evidence of drinking. Several leads were tracked down and with the combined efforts of East HRP and Cole Harbour RCMP patrol officers ultimately led to the arrest of a 19 year old male from the Minesville area. The accused has been released to appear in court at a later date, he will be charged with several offences including:
 
Impaired Driving
Property Damage
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
