DUI charges after Dartmouth accident

Police have charged a man with dangerous driving and impaired driving offences in relation to a motor vehicle collision that occurred early yesterday morning in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1:55 a.m.  on January 19, officers responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred in the 100 block of Prince Albert Road. A vehicle that appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle. Officers arrested the driver for impaired driving. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • Impaired operation of a conveyance
  • Operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg%
