DUI charges against man with all-terrain vehicle

Halifax District RCMP has arrested a man for Impaired Operation of an ATV on Hammonds Plains Rd. in Upper Tantallon.

On February 7, at 3:53 p.m., an RCMP officer observed an ATV without a license plate in a parking lot on Hammons Plains Rd. in Upper Tantallon. The officer approached the driver of the ATV and noted that the driver, a 21-year-old Hubbards man, was displaying signs of impairment. The man provided a sample of breath into an approved screening device which resulted in a fail. The man was subsequently arrested, without incident, for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance. He was transported to the Tantallon RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of breath that were over the legal limit.

The man was later released from custody on an appearance notice and he will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on April 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. He will be facing a charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Operation of a Conveyance Over 80mg%. The ATV was also towed and the man was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for driving an ATV without a license plate.
