DUI collision closes North Street

At 00:47 a.m; Police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of North St and Creighton St in Halifax. A pickup truck left the roadway, sheared a power pole and came to a rest against a residence. The vehicle sustained extensive damages but there were no reported damages to the residence. The 42-year-old male driver was not injured and was arrested at the scene for impaired operation of a conveyance. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date. 

North St remain closed to all traffic between Creighton St. and Maynard St. while NS Power replaces the broken power pole, the road closure is expected to continue throughout the morning.
