Dutch Settlement​ youth charged with Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police

East Hants District​ RCMP​ have charged a​ male youth​ with Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police.​ ​

Yesterday at​ approximately 11:20 a.m., East Hants District​ RCMP got a report of a pick up truck doing burnouts in front of a school on Hwy 2 in Milford. Members​ went to the scene and were able to identify the driver and tried to pull the truck over in order to talk to the driver but the truck fled at speeds of up to 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. There were two occupants in the​ vehicle at the time.

The truck was later located at a​ home in Dutch Settlement and seized by police for stunting.

The driver, a 17-year-old youth from Dutch Settlement, turned himself in​ later that night and was released on conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Shubenacadie Youth Court on June 3, at 1:30 p.m.​

The investigation is ongoing.
