East Hants Couple Convicted of Animal Cruelty

Jenny Jessop and Tyler Northup of East Hants have pled guilty to violating the Animal Protection Act; Section 22(a) failure to provide adequate food and water, Section 22(b) failure to provide adequate medical attention and Section 22(1) and for causing an animal to be in distress.

Pictured below is Brandy, a 4 year old female boxer seized from the couple back in November 2014 and as a result of her condition Jessop and Northup were sentenced to a 5 year prohibition from owning animals.
Officers seized Brandy from the couple as she was found well below healthy body weight, with several sores on her body and tail – which later had to be amputated.
