East Hants District RCMP investigate armed robbery, Shubenacadie, N.S.

East Hants District RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that occurred earlier this evening.

At approximately 5:55 p.m., East Hants District RCMP along with several neighbouring RCMP detachments responded to a report of an armed male at the Shubenacadie Guardian Pharmacy.

A lone male threatened an employee with a hypodermic needle demanding prescription medication. The suspect then fled from the store with a small amount of drugs.

There were four employees and one customer in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect is described as an adult male, roughly 6 ft tall, slim to medium-build, wearing dark clothing, a dark coloured full-faced motorcycle helmet with a bandanna that covered most of his face and neck.

A short-time after the robbery, RCMP arrested three adult males. The males are in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
