East Hants District RCMP investigate serious injury collision, Rines Creek, N.S.

East Hants District RCMP are investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred in Rines Creek late last evening.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., East Hants District RCMP, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale Fire Departments and EHS responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 215.

Preliminary investigation determined that the lone occupant of a mini van suffered serious injuries when the vehicle she was operating left the highway, struck trees and came to rest in the ditch. The 26-year-old driver from Truro was airlifted to the QEII Hospital in Halifax with very serious injuries.

The driver remains in hospital and the investigation is continuing.
