Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services provided on Good Friday, Apr. 3, 2015. Curbside collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled for Good Friday, Apr. 3 will occur the next day, Saturday, Apr. 4. Collection services will occur as usual on Monday, Apr. 6.
Please note that double garbage bag limits will be allowed on Saturday, Apr. 4 to accommodate cancelled curbside waste collection two weeks ago, due to poor conditions following a snow storm.
The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two composting facilities and the municipal recycling plant will be closed on Good Friday, Apr. 3 and Sunday, Apr. 5, but will be open on Saturday, Apr. 4 and Monday, Apr. 6 with regular operating hours.
The municipality’s residential Household Special Waste (HSW) Depot located at 20 Horseshoe Lake Drive will be closed Saturday, Apr. 4 and will re-open Saturday, Apr. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
