I’ve been talking to Bonnie at Chebucto Connections, and she was telling me about the launch today of a new partnership of 12 agencies that are working towards theÂÂ Eastern Chebucto Hub Organization (ECHO) initiative.
You may have heard of pop-up shops. This is sort of like that, but for services likeÂÂ Addictions & Mental Health Program, Captain William Spry Public Library, Boys & Girls Club of Spryfield, Chebucto Connections, Chebucto Family Centre, Chebucto Community Health Team, IWK Primary Health, Legal Aid Nova Scotia, Progress Centre for Early Intervention, SchoolsPLUS-HRSB, St. Paul’s Family Resources Institute and the YWCA.
All twelve will rotate through the Chebucto Connections office at 531 Herring Cove road, monthly. According to the press release: “Examples of what residents from the area can drop-in for are: legal aid services, to inquire about mental health, to learn how to use an iPad, to get help navigating the health system, to ask about child development or behavioural concerns, to find support to quit smoking or simply to find out what services are available to them. ECHO will bring services to the residents, breaking down barriers such as transportation, time and accessibility.”Â
