Monday, June 8, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Eddie Leblanc baseball diamond #1, located at 385 First Lake Dr., Lower Sackville, will be closed for approximately six weeks this summer while crews install new infrastructure.
The facility is getting new field lights and dugouts. The work is scheduled to begin the week of June 15.
The field will remain closed until the work is complete, which is expected to take until the first week of August, depending on weather conditions.
Residents will continue to have access to the rest of the facility during the closure; however, some pedestrian walkways may need to be temporarily closed during construction for safety reasons. Residents are asked to abide by any posted closure and other safety signage at the facility.
The municipality regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause. For information on other municipal sports fields and ball diamonds, please visit www.halifax.ca/rec/index.php.
