Yarmouth Town RCMP has charged four people with drug and firearms offences after a search warrant was executed in Yarmouth.
On March 28, Yarmouth Town RCMP, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, Southwest Nova Traffic Services and the Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia, executed a search warrant on Parade St.
At the home, police safely arrested four men and four women then located and seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency and cellular phones. The eight people inside the residence were taken into custody; four of the eight are being charged with numerous offences, including:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Unsafe Storage of Firearm
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Substance
The four accused were released on conditions and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
