Electoral Boundaries Commission Established

A commission to review and provide recommendations on electoral boundaries has been established. The Select Committee on Establishing an Electoral Boundaries Commission filed its report with the legislature clerk's office today, July 13, in Halifax. It includes the terms of reference for the commission and lists the commission members:-- Colin Dodds, chair, Halifax-- Carlotta Weymouth, Dartmouth-- Michael J. Kelloway, Sydney-- Paul Gaudet, Saulnierville, Digby Co.-- Michael J. Baker, Hammonds Plains -- Glenn Graham, Antigonish-- Peter Marshall Butler, Halifax-- Leonard LeFort, Cheticamp-- Angela Simmonds, Westphal, Halifax Regional Municipality The commission must submit an interim report by Nov. 30 and its final report by Apr. 1, 2019. The commission has the option to ask for a deadline extension on the final report.The commission will hold public hearings before preparing its interim report and again before preparing its final report.
