Right now we’re experiencing lots of “mama turn that off!! it’s scarrrrrryyyy!!!” with Aidan. Even the viking in one of his Veggie Tales movies scares him! This isn’t just something that happens with {almost} 3 year olds though. Young readers who have an interest especially in fantasy novels or action novels are often bombarded with negative messages, frightening scenarios, poor role models and even violence. We try to keep our kids from seeing too much violence and inappropriate shows on tv, but often forget about the words they read to themselves on paper. {click title to read more}
