HALIFAX, Dec. 13, 2011, 2011 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) –Today, Halifax Regional Municipality approved Emera's investment in the Halifax Skating Oval. Emera is pleased to partner with HRM and other community minded partners to make the Emera Oval a reality for our community.

The Oval was originally built last winter for the Halifax 2010 Canada Games, but quickly became a popular spot for friends and families to enjoy a leisurely skate. With Emera investing $500,000 over 10 years and the support of other community partners, the Emera Oval will now become a permanent fixture on the Halifax Commons. It is expected to open on December 23(rd).
