Emergency water main repairs on Huron Street and Lakefront Road

Halifax Water crews are on-site carrying out emergency water main repairs at two locations.

Huron Street

Crews are working near 6736 Huron Street. Water service will be temporarily shut down in the area, with no estimate for restoration. Huron Street is open to local traffic only. Traffic control personnel are on site and sidewalks remain open.

Lakefront Road

Crews are also repairing a water main near 50 Lakefront Road in Dartmouth. Water service will be temporarily shut down in the area, with no estimate for restoration. Motorists should expect stop-and-go traffic through the work zone. Traffic control personnel are on site and sidewalks remain open.

Customers in both areas may experience discoloured water during or after the repairs. Those affected are advised to run cold water at one tap until it runs clear. More information and reporting tools are available on the Halifax Water website.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Speed fines double in work zones.

Halifax Water apologizes for the inconvenience and asks residents to keep a safe distance from crews and equipment while work is underway.
