Eskasoni RCMP investigates homicide, Eskasoni, N.S.

Eskasoni RCMP is investigating a serious assault that led to the death of a 36-year-old Eskasoni man.

At 1:35 a.m. today, RCMP and EHS responded to a report of a serious assault at the top of Spencer’s Lane.

Preliminary investigation determined that the victim was involved in an altercation with a 36-year-old Eskasoni man. The victim, who was being transported to hospital by EHS, died from his injuries on the way to hospital. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was arrested several hours later in Eskasoni without incident and remains in custody at this time. This was not a random act and the men were known to one another. No further information will be released at this time. This homicide investigation is continuing.
