Evacuation expands to Barrington Street, Upper Water Street, Brunswick Street, Duke Street after threats

Update: ALL ROADS REOPENED. Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat in downtown Halifax. All roads have been reopened. Businesses may reopen as well. A small police presence will remain in the Purdy’s Wharf parkade. (Posted 1:10)

Evactuation Order Expands
The evacuation area in downtown Halifax has now expanded to include the following:

The intersection of Barrington Street/Almalway Way is closed

Upper Water Street is closed

Brunswick Street/Dr. Aldred Waddell Street to Brunswick Street/Cogswell Street

Duke Street/Barrington Street is closed to vehicle traffic down to Upper Water Street

This evacuation order includes all businesses in this area. Pedestrians are asked to leave the area as well.
