RCMP Northeast Traffic Services is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy. 105 in Hillside Boularderie.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. yesterday morning, police were notified of a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 105 in Hillside Boularderie. Police, fire and EHS attended the scene where it was determined that a motorcycle had been travelling on Hwy. 105 when it lost control. Both motorcycle riders were ejected as a result.
The motorcycle driver, a 58-year-old man from Newfoundland, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The motorcycle passenger, a 53-year-old woman from Newfoundland, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Hwy. 105 was closed for approximately 8 hours but has since reopened.
