Fatal collision in Cumberland County

The Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision in Barronsfield.

Yesterday at 5:05 p.m., Cumberland District RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on Barronsfield Rd. The RCMP attended along with Fire and EHS. The investigation revealed that a vehicle had left the road then collided with a culvert.

The driver, a man from Minudie who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

The road was closed for several hours and has since reopened.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.
