Fatal collision in Lewis Lake

At 4:02 p.m. on October 23, a single vehicle collision was reported on Hwy. 3 in Lewis Lake. Police attended and found a non-responsive female in the driver’s seat of the small car. No one else was involved.

Paramedics and Firefighters extricated the woman from the vehicle and provided assistance, however they were not able to revive her. The driver, an 85-year-old woman from Hubley, died at the scene.

An RCMP collision analyst was called to examine the scene for evidence. Highway 3 was closed in the area for several hours but has since been re-opened. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
