From HRPD:
Police have charged a man in connection with an investigation into injuries to his child.
At 1:50 a.m. on June 23 police were called to the I.W.K. Health Centre after a two-month-old boy was brought in to the emergency by his parents. There were concerns about the child’s injuries which prompted an investigation by the HRP/RCMP Major Crime Unit. It was determined that the child’s injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome and as a result the baby’s father was arrested. The baby is expected to make a full recovery.
A 27-year-old man of HRM is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on August 23 to face charges of aggravated assault.
