Favourite Friday: APril 12 Edition

Ally: Oh, Friday. I’m quite happy to see you this week. It was a busy one. Let’s get right to my favourites this week!

Swag Day!

I promise (no, really) to stop talking about my new sneakers by the time we reach 2015.

When you’re pregnant, and there aren’t really many great fashion finds out there, you nurture and cherish the things that make you feel fantastic and fresh-stylin’. Yes, I’m talking about my bama kicks!

One of my friends pointed out the whiteout in this photo. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES.

While the delivery of these goods was extremely enjoyable, it was also slightly mortifying. My husband had taken the day off work to finish off the baby room renos. He witnessed me opening up my FedEx box from Stars and Straps. What happened next is what I imagine the scenario would be if your husband walked in on you enjoying one of the sexytime scenes from The Departed. Not that I would know what that was like. (NSFW maybe, however worth losing your job to watch?).

I enjoyed that this clip was not in English. No one is following the dialogue anyway.

Back to the box, it was filled with Yelawolf swag (eek! Forget the video clip, that double entendre might be NSFW).Oh, let’s just press pause for a moment. L-A didn’t know that these shoes were designed by Yelawolf. She was all shocked when I saw her yesterday and had a look on her face that resembled embarrassment for me. Weird. She must have ate something bad.

Swag included Yelawolf poster, stickers for Country Fresh (his clothing line) and a lanyard. The lanyard might have been the most embarrassing thing, actually. El Jeffe said with mortification, “Is that for like, CONCERTS? How OLD are you?!”

Whatever.

Ok, it's slightly awful that this came in the mail, but also totally hilarious.

I love the shoes. I stand by that. Speaking of The Shoes. They made an appearance on Live at Five last evening!

Hanging with Maria from Section Six

This is what I like to call, "Ally displaying her Inner Beauty" (cause the outside is on a break).

Maria touched base with us earlier this week to see if we would be free to chat about joining Stylelist Canada, as well as discuss some trends for spring. L-A and I can never pass up a chance to disagree in public, so we met Maria and Pat the cameraman (who has the patience of Job after having to stand there and hear us talk about “formal shorts” for over 30 minutes) at Uncommon Grounds on South Park Street. Here’s the result!  (http://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=903770&binId=1.1145729&playlistPageNum=)

If the link gives you trouble, just find Maria’s Section Six segment and click on that over at the Live at Five site.

I want to do everything that Gwyneth and Michelle are doing

We talked with Maria about formal shorts and choppy, short hairstyles – both of which I love. These are my fave examples of each trend.

I will never read that cookbook, that's for sure.

Love!

Not a wise choice for an eight month pregnant lady, but this might happen in the next couple of years.

Crappy Pop Video of the Week

No, it will not be “Accidental Racist”. Holy shit, Brad Paisley, WTF??!! However it will be country music! I know, so excited we all are right now!
