Favourite Friday: March 15 Edition

Ally: Morning, everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts this week. There was a lot going on with work and home for the both of us so we decided we needed to put away our brilliance for a week (WordPress just told me I spelled “brilliance” wrong. Amazing).

Sad news of the Week

L-A and I actually found a concert that we could enjoy together. It’s happening in the same place! At the same time!

L-A mentioned something about “The Cure” and “New Order”. I don’t know these people (I half kid, don’t hate). Looking down the list however I spot “Yellow Wolf” as Official Intern Krista refers to him. Can we talk about how he’s not ahead of Macklemore? Street cred means nothing these days to all the kids.

Sadly, as I am seven months pregnant, I don’t feel the timing is really ideal for us. This is tragic.

Trunk Muzik Returns

This brings me to my next favourite, and will likely bring you to move along to another website! Yelawolf has released Trunk Muzik Returns! Aren’t we all just so excited?

You can download the entire mixtape here.

Rain gear that I can actually get down with

One of my favourite people posted on her Facebook this week about a new line in rain wear from Trout.

This is my absolute favourite:

It’s oversized, so you can pair with that chunky spring sweater, and reversible double-breasted. Jane’s (the friend I speak of) sister Sarah helped with the design of the jacket. This means I basically hang-out with celebrities.

At this point I believe it is only available at Holt Renfrew in Toronto and Vancouver.

Taylor Swift impresses me just a little bit this week

I think I’ve told you all before how much my son loves Taylor Swift. At age three, he’s determined that she is right up there with Batman and Spiderman. I won’t lie, I dig the Taylor as well. He was so excited the other day when I picked him up from daycare to inform him that a brand new Taylor Swift video was awaiting him upon his return home. We watched it 18 times that evening. The Swift is pretty adorable throughout, but big props for her t-shirt and the way she’s rocking that bandana all Coachella styles:

Crappy southern-influenced hip hop video of the week

You knew it was coming. Here is Yelawolf’s F.A.S.T. Ride video. I asked L-A the other day if the fact that I was the only person she knew who actually knew about Yelawolf made me impressive. She said, and I quote, “I’m still trying to figure that out”. I think she’s intimidated by my superior taste in music. That must be difficult for her.
