Favourite Friday: March 25 Edition – Ally watches more TV

Ally: Hello Friday! I am very excited to see you today. Specifically because I have taken the day off work to spend with my little guy.

Here are a few of my ridiculously random favourite things. If you find talking about kids boring and hate reality TV, I suggest you scroll down to L-A’s comments.

American Idol

Are you watching? I’m watching. Mostly for the horrendous outfit selections by J-Lo (she will always, ALWAYS be J-Lo to moi). Even worse than her outfit on Wednesday was her choice in eyeshadow. Did she put that on while drunkst?

I mean, it’s  happened to the best of us. I remember this one time putting on makeup while drunkst. I thought I looked so beautiful. Photos that turned up the next day had me more Tanya Harding than Cate Blanchett.

The best thing about Idol this season is Pia. She needs to ease up on the slow jams, but I dig her vibe.

Voice is great. Outfit….well, the only explanation is that she must have peed her pants and had to borrow something from J-Lo. Necklace can stay.

I do agree with Lainey, this guy makes me so angry that I could run to the mirror and chop all my hair off to try to ease the pain.

Conductor Overalls

My favourite this week because my heart is extra melty over my son. He loves wearing these overalls, and I love him in them.

They are laid out all ready for his playdate today.

Princess Catherine

Can you even WAIT for this wedding? I’m losing it. So excited. Apparently so is Kate Middleton. She’s amping up gym-styles to get ready to say Yes to the Dress. I would maim for this body.

She’s posing a bit too Jen Aniston, but look past that. I have.

Crappy pop video of the week. I have no idea what made me think of this song, but it’s been running through my head all week. One of the small things I am grateful for.

Here comes the hotsteppa.

You know you missed me, L-A. Don’t be frontin’.

L-A: I totally missed you! However, I don’t have much to say today. But that’s because I spent the evening saying goodbye to our Unpaid Staffer Anthony, who has decided to leave Halifax for greener pastures. Watch out, Vancouver. That dude is going to Pete Campbell you like nobody’s  business.

Anyway, while Anthony is a favourite this week, the loss of Dame Elizabeth is not.

In other news, babies in overalls happen to be one of the cutest things on the planet, I am three sheets to the wind and I’m not understanding how anyone can not like the American version of Skins. For reals, folks! I’m sure the British series is a treat, buy what makes the American so bad? Is it the fact that British is generally supposed to be better than anything American?  Is it because it’s American? Because it’s so much Toronto that it’s hardly American. Also, I think that teens (target audience…although that usually ranges from 18-34) might be more interested in current teens with current cultural references, set in the States, than a series that’s about four years old with British cultural references. Just a guess. Whatever. I dig it. And I’ve been digging the theme song as well.

Enjoy your Friday. And for Anthony, here’s the non-sequiter of the past three weeks:
