At 10:07 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to the 700 block of Hammonds Plains Road, where a 17 year old female had been shot.

The victim was being transported to the hospital when they called 911. Police located the parties.

The victim was shot through the hand, into her leg. She has non life threatening injuries.

Both victim and suspect are known to each other. Integrated GIS will be continuing the investigation. Forensic Identification section is also attending the scene.

A 19 year old male suspect has been arrested and is being held in police custody and will be appearing in Halifax court on Monday, charged with weapons offences and breaches.
