Fiery crash in Peggy’s Cove takes life of man

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Peggy’s Cove.

On August 28 at 9:20 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Peggy’s Cove Rd. with two occupants trapped in the vehicle. The vehicle was reported to be on fire.

Firefighters were able to control and contain the flames. First responders freed the passenger, who had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver, a 41-year-old man from Indian Harbour, was pronounced deceased.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and Peggy’s Cove Rd. was closed for several hours. The investigation, which is in its early stages, is ongoing.
