Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in solving the homicide of 31-year-old John Francis Alquiros.
On April 19, 2002, at approximately 11 a.m, police responded to a report that three youths had found a body while walking near the Greenhead Rd. extension, located off Highway 103 in Timberlea. John Francis Alquiros was the confirmed victim.
The investigation revealed that the Greenhead Rd. extension was the actual site of the homicide and Mr. Alquiros died of gun shot wounds. Greenhead Rd. is a rural area approximately one kilometer from residential housing and is often used for hiking and all-terrain vehicle use.
This homicide has been added to the Nova Scotia Reward for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in certain cases. For more information, visit: Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.
