Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) announced five newly approved funding commitments through the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund today, July 12.

My Way, a documentary produced by Dignity Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $119,216 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $384,566.

Talented, a documentary produced by Hack2 Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $119,450 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $385,322.

Ability, a documentary produced by Moms Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $119,640 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $385,936.

Pure, a television series produced by Pure Season 1 Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $2,363,472 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $7,385,849.

STUDIO BLACK! Season 2, a television mini-series produced by Studio Black Productions Ltd., has been approved for a funding commitment of $230,550 based on an eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $795,001.

Quick facts:
— the fund applies to eligible costs such as labour, goods or services purchased from a Nova Scotia-based supplier
— when an application is approved, NSBI issues a commitment letter which can be used for bank financing. When the applicant enters the official incentive agreement, the agreement can also be used for the financing process
— once a production is approved for a funding commitment, the funds are placed in reserve
— when the production is complete the applicant submits a final claim to NSBI for processing and disbursement
— all applications and claims are processed and approved by NSBI
