Video & Photos: Playground Set Ablaze On Dartmouth Waterfront

At approximately 5:15 PM HRP Officers responded to a fire call at the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal. HRM Fire had been dispatched to that location to extinguish a wooden playground boat that appeared to have been deliberately set alight causing extensive damage. Information had been received from several witnesses that a group of youths were seen fleeing from the area –  4 males and 1 female, aged 16-17 years. HRP officers searched the area and quickly located a group of youths fitting the description provided by witnesses – they have been questioned and released at this time.
The Halifax Regional Police are requesting that anyone with information about this incident  to contact police at 490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip – Tip 202 + your message to 274637.
