RCMP release:

Digby RCMP has charged a man with firearms offences after seizing firearms from a Bloomfield property.

A short time later, at 12:10 p.m., RCMP officers located the suspect in a vehicle on Hwy. 101 in Plympton and conducted a traffic stop. Both occupants of the Mazda 3 were ordered out of the vehicle and safely arrested.

Following the arrest, investigators attended a residence on Bloomfield Rd. in Bloomfield. In a tent on the property, they located and seized two firearms, ammunition, and a crossbow; one of the firearms was loaded at the time of seizure.

Thirty-eight-year-old Krystofer Evan Robert Edmunds of Bloomfield has been charged with:

  • Uttering Threats (three counts)
  • Contravention of Storage Regulations (two counts)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (four counts)

Edmunds was held in custody and appeared in Digby Provincial Court on July 18. The other person arrested at the traffic stop was released without charges.
